I am realizing how vital is it is string at least two days of the week together to make art WORK. If you use your creative skills to make your living, then you will have realised that you always need TIME. The more time you have the more you want and need. My art practice is very much based on time spent playing with one idea leading to another......on a journey of mess, disaster, discovery and finally something that might have potential. Invariably the end result is not quite what you expected, but you have brought into existence something exciting and unexpected.
My studio becomes chaotic during creative work time and at the end of each day, I leave everything as it is........(apart from brushes and paint).......so when I arrive the next day I can delve in where I left off. Having a week in between with no activity is a disaster and usually ends an abandoned project.
Other news: I have a new outlet selling my work in the Peak district....thanks to Studio 61 - Karina Goodman Gallery - Studio 61 and there is a link here to the gallery facebook page! Otherwise you can buy my work at Manx National Heritage, Studio 42 in Port St Mary, The Isle Gallery, Tynwald Mills or direct from my etsy shop (link in my website) or book an appointment to see me. Open Studio event IOM Arts Festival will be here soon (Bank Holiday), so take this opportunity to view a wide variety of art on out sweet Island, go an look at the artists working in their own studio spaces!
If you feel like creating some of your own art mess with me, I will be announcing a new series of art workshops for 2016, starting with printmaking in May. I am concentrating on other projects this year, so there will be less workshops........so try to book early if you want on!
Thanks for reading and hope you are all saving some time to create!
See you all soon XX
