It has been the most amazing Summer for workshops. The big highlight was the children's Art Boot Camp. I love teaching all ages, but that week was so intense, inspirational and special. Hearing parents comments, about how the children couldn't wait to arrive in the morning - flying out of their cars on arrival - forgetting lunches, coming home and talking about the day, full of excitement - it made my heart sing with joy. Best thing was, I felt exactly the same. Much forward planning went in to the week, and working into the evening preparing for the next day, it was worth every moment and I look forward to next year's art boot!
I ran two Frida Kahlo workshops through the Summer for adults. Kahlo's work has been celebrated internationally as emblematic of a Mexican national and by feminists for her uncompromising depiction of the female experience and form - despite suffering life long health problems. I was extremely pleased with the response to the workshop and the huge variety of artwork created over both. The adults journal art workshops are being met with equal popularity. It was such a pleasure to run workshops and what resonated with me, were the amount of people attending who had not picked up a paint brush since they were children! There will be more journal projects in February 2017. You are all amazing and thanks for joining me.
Wrap up warm and get ready for Autumn/Winter art workshops.
