No excuses, but June was busy! What a wonderful month time for walkers - the countryside is bursting with beautiful wild flowers - the colours are so inspiring! Wild orchids....wild chrysanthemum and elderflower.
Art Source tips
I promised to start including a few tips on art making process:
Part One - Research:Look around, observe, record.
There is an endless source for imagery and mark making all around you. Just look at the wonderful delicate colours and marks on these pebbles! I am lucky to live in a place with lots of natural source material, however, if you live in an urban area, look on your neighbours window box, in front gardens.....Look at the lines on buildings, cracks in the pavements.....everything can be translated as beautiful line and marks - inspiration for artwork. Use your phone, or a small sketch book to record. If you have artist's block then sketching is the best way to generate ideas and get back into practice. Once yo have made a start one idea will lead to another and suddenly you have several ideas for projects!
Just a few sketches and working out compositions from my sketch book.
I am a mixed media artist, art tutor and motivator and live in the Isle of Man, sharing a few things about my life and work! E-courses and online art motivation workshops coming soon!
