Encaustic Collage Painting Workshop


Join us in the Studio for some hot wax painting and learn a new skill plus techniques of working with bees wax and coloured pigments.


Create dramatic effects through a number of guided techniques incorporating a variety of mixed media techniques, whilst also making the most of incising and embedding found objects into the wax using heat & fusing processes. Working in a contemporary style to create a seascape or landscape collage we will explore photo encaustic, printmaking, charcoal, ink and graphite to create timeless artworks inspired by the natural world.


*Please note due to the use of hot molten wax this course can only be offered to over 16's unless accompanied by an adult.

The following techniques are covered

Incising,embedding, how to create texture, how to use transfers and original drawings with encaustic.

★Photo-encaustic along with other techniques and methods 
★Mixing your own encaustic paint


Materials are included 2 birchwood 25x25cm boards and a sample board. All materials including the use of encaustic pigments + more is included in the price.

To be welcomed to our tranquil gallery space. Enjoy refreshments - cake, biscuits and drinks from a selection of teas, including herbal tea, coffee, juice on arrival and during the workshop (please make provisions for lunch if this is a full day workshop either a packed lunch or the Tynwald Mills onsite restaurant/cafe)
